Welcome to Burringbar Community Preschool
Since 1987 we have proudly been serving the community by providing not-for-profit, community based, high quality early childhood education.
Our preschool is set on one acre of land in the small and beautiful town of Burringbar. There is plenty of room for our children to explore their environment in our large and natural outdoor area. We have a focus on sustainable living and have solar panels, water tanks and encourage waste free healthy lunch boxes, with scraps being fed to our healthy and happy chickens. The outdoor space has a fully equipped undercover playground, sandpit, dry creek bed, vegetable patches, fruit trees, large shade trees and an outdoor sustainability classroom. In 2021 we added a dual swing set that caters for all children’s physical and emotional needs and abilities.
The children also love playing with a large range of equipment, art supplies, toys, books, trikes and scooters as well as recycled and natural materials. Inside is an open plan and inviting space where we can have group activities and relaxation time.
Bush Kindy Program.
- Increased opportunities to engage in risky play has many proven benefits. Simply climbing a tree promotes the development of coordination, spatial awareness, balance, builds risk assessment skills and confidence.
- Practical hands-on experiences such as tool use provides real-life experiences that will stay with them forever.
- Freedom to explore, play, build, imagine and create in turn promoting problem solving, team working and building important social connections with each other.
- Connecting to our community and exploring Indigenous perspectives in ways that cannot be done within the Preschool grounds.
- There is so much wonderment and joy that nature has to offer. It provides children a chance to simply ‘be’. It is a time to spark curiosity and their sense of wonder about the natural world around them, further igniting their love of learning.

Our Vision
Our Vision is to empower children to utilise their potential; be creative; assertively question, explore, investigate and freely navigate the learning journey within a natural setting inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
Nurture children and encourage them to confidently follow their interests through inclusive, engaging and meaningful play experiences, whilst developing deep relationships with each other, their families, educators, our community and the land.
Preschool Programs, 2023.
Two day set programs:
Monday to Tuesday
from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
or
Thursday to Friday
from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Third day optional Wednesday Bush Kindy Program.
9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Arrive to preschool at 9:oo am for departure to bush site by 9:30 am. Arrive back to preschool by 2:30pm for 3:00 pm pick up.
